	Mike Gough~Please Write 8/6/2009-8/22/2009 I am a recorder. Our lives are composed of beginnings and endings, things found or lost, and the feelings and memories we collect through our experiences and connections with others. This is what has sustained my art practice and this is what I record. My work has always had subtle autobiographical foundations and each piece has a connection to an experience or relationship in my life. The canvas becomes my image diary that tells my story and history. The creative process allows me to recapture memories. Our brain gives us the ability to time travel where our physical bodies cannot. My paintings are testimony of my existence. They tell a story and act as mementos.
